Cast clutch components contain several important parts:

1. Cast clutch componentsFlywheel. First, it serves to maintain rotational inertia. Second, it provides the gear ring required for the starter to engage. Third, it provides the driving friction surface for the friction plate.

2. Clutch pressure plate. The pressure plate applies pressure to keep the driven friction plate between the pressure plate and the flywheel. The pressure plate contains a diaphragm or spring that applies pressure to the main casting or driving surface. To release or disengage the drive, the diaphragm or clutch lever is activated to separate the main casting from the driven plate. Cast iron alloys, such as gray cast iron GG30, GG25 (German standard DIN 1691), are commonly used to manufacture clutch pressure plate castings. These materials have high compressive strength, low tensile strength and no ductility.

3. Clutch assembly release bearing. Provides the drive medium between the rotating clutch assembly and the fixed clutch fork and gearbox. The bearing will absorb the force of clutch disengagement and reduce wear between rotating and non-rotating components.

Structure and design points of Casting Clutch Components

The annual output of Casting Clutch Components produced by HY exceeds 120,000 pieces. The whole is formed by die casting process and matched with the quantitative furnace to transport aluminum liquid.

The bottom of Casting Clutch Components is a machined surface, which is connected to the gearbox housing. The suspension devices on the left and right sides are used for the vehicle installation and fixation of the gearbox, which has high strength requirements. The flange surface and the joint surface of the gearbox and the air hole defects of the suspension device are the main control points.

Defect Definition of Casting Clutch Components

During the die-casting production of clutch components, the holes inside the casting are called pores, also known as shrinkage cavities or shrinkage porosity. Common forms include spherical holes with smooth or rough inner walls, or loose structures composed of a large number of tiny holes.

Defects usually occur at some hot spots where the wall thickness varies greatly, and the inner wall of the hole presents dendritic crystal casting protrusions or sponge-like structures.

Unless the pores are large and seriously affect the performance of clutch brakes, pores generally have little effect on the strength and integrity of the casting. Porosity defects can be compensated by infiltration treatment, which has a certain effect on improving air tightness. Of course, not all pore defects can be treated with this method. This method can only be used when the defects are not serious.

We all agree that perfection does not exist, so pores are not completely prohibited. Of course, this does not prevent us from pursuing perfection. Porosity, an internal defect, can be judged according to a certain level of requirements specified in the "Quality Standards for Die Castings", that is, the shrinkage diameter of any area of Casting Clutch Components cannot be greater than φ2.3mm, and the shrinkage diameter of the surface after processing is not allowed to be greater than φ1.5mm.

The main methods for detecting porosity defects are anatomical testing and non-destructive testing. Important die castings will undergo X-ray non-destructive testing of all internal defects.
